Stream Your Zoom Webinar on Facebook Live and YouTube Live

— Written By

A new version of Zoom Video Webinar has been released that includes the ability to easily stream your webinar to Facebook Live and YouTube Live.

With Zoom Webinar 4.0, you can broadcast to Facebook Live and YouTube. This product allows up to 50 video webinar participants in a session that can stream to millions. You can stream to one or the other (but not both at the same time).

Note that only the host of the webinar can stream the webinar and arrangements will need to be made with Extension Information Technology so that the EIT host has access to the feed to post the Webinar live feed to.

Facebook Live

  • facebook live iconIf your account is associated with a managed page, select the managed page to post the Webinar live feed to.
  • Your Webinar displays on Facebook with a short lag time, so that the stream is approximately 20 seconds behind your actual Zoom Webinar.
  • Streaming stops when the Webinar ends or when the the Stop Streaming icon is selected on the Zoom client.

YouTube Live

  • Your Webinar displays on YouTube with a short lag time, so that the stream is approximately 20 seconds behind your actual Zoom Webinar.
  • Streaming stops when the Webinar ends or when the the Stop Streaming icon is selected on the Zoom client.

How to get the update to Zoom 4.0?

You should be prompted for an update to this new version but if you do not want to wait for the prompt, go to https://zoom.us/download and download the Zoom Client for Meetings

How do I schedule a webinar?

Use the Zoom Tool to request a webinar. Someone from Extension Information Technology will call you to confirm the details and set up the webinar and discuss any customizations that you have in mind. Webinars should be scheduled at least a week in advance whenever possible. We strongly recommend a practice session 3-5 days prior to the webinar.
