However, there may be instances where a contact wants to rejoin your email list. In such cases, it is essential to provide them with an option to resubscribe. By resubscribing to your email list, the contact is indicating their renewed interest in your brand, which can lead to increased engagement and sales.

Best Practices for Resubscribing Contacts

The CAN-SPAM Act is a law that sets the rules for commercial email, establishes requirements for commercial messages, and gives recipients the right to stop receiving emails. It is important to ensure that your resubscription process complies with the CAN-SPAM Act. Some of the requirements include:

  • Providing a valid physical postal address of your business. Note that those are contained in our ActiveCampaign templates.
  • Including a clear and easy way for recipients to unsubscribe from future emails. This is also in our template.
  • Honoring opt-out requests and promptly removing the recipient from your email list. This includes only resubscribing individuals who have provided a written/emailed request to your office.

By following these guidelines, you can avoid violating the CAN-SPAM Act and protect your business from potential legal issues.

Resubscribing Contacts in ActiveCampaign

Resubscribing a contact in ActiveCampaign is a straightforward process. Follow the steps below:

  • Log in to your ActiveCampaign account.
  • Click on the “Contacts” tab.
  • Search for the contact you want to resubscribe.
  • Click on the contact’s email address to open their profile.
  • Locate the Lists section in the contact’s profile.
  • Select the appropriate list and change the status to Subscribed.
