The Filmic app has recently been updated, and the installation process has changed. There are now 2 apps that need to be installed, though you’ll only use one app (Filmic Legacy).

We’re currently working with Filmic on simplifying this process and hope to have an update soon, but if you use Filmic for video editing on an iPad, you’ll need to follow the steps below to continue using the app.

Installation process

First, make sure that both the Filmic and Filmic Legacy apps are installed on your iPad. If not, they’re both available to re-install through the Self Service app.

Next, open Filmic, and close any windows that come up asking to sign up / subscribe (there’s an X in the top left corner to close).

Click on the gear icon in the upper left of the Filmic screen, then click on Information.

Scroll down until you see “Download Filmic Legacy”, and click on that.

This should open the already-installed and licensed version of the Filmic Legacy app.
