We realize that it’s not always easy to come up with fresh ideas for content every month, so we decided to put together this series of Hottest Extension Topics to help get you started.

If we look back at the last few years of web traffic (for all our sites), these were the posts that consistently drew the most traffic during July and August (or were written during this time period) and became popular later. While some posts are no longer published, many still are and continue to thrive even years after being written.

The top two categories that emerged in our top July/August posts were:

1. Issues Growing Vegetables & Weeds in the Landscape

2. Help Identifying and Controlling Pests

On the tail end of this data, as we head into late August, folks are beginning to think about the Fall (re-seeding, over-seeding, and planting in general). Planting a Fall Garden has always been a popular post to round out the month of August, but any Fall preparation / inspirational post would be a good fit here.
