May Learning Opportunities

(Updated: May 7, 2025, 11:53 a.m.)
We're taking a summer break on Express sessions, but we will still be hosting our other regular training sessions. If there are any topics you'd like to see us cover, please let us know. We can't promise all topics, but we'll do our best!

ActiveCampaign

Our monthly online ActiveCampaign sessions are offered on May 13th and May 15th from 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon. Join our Managing Contacts session on May 13th to learn more about managing your contacts. To learn more about creating and sending campaigns, join our Creating Email Campaigns session on May 15th.

Eventbrite

Our monthly online Eventbrite session is on May 7th from 9-10:30 a.m. This session will cover Extension Eventbrite requests through event publication, including budget forms, adding details to the event, online event, modifying ticket information, adding custom questions to the order form, making your event live for registration, and managing attendees once your event is published.

Gemini

We are offering new trainings on how to use Gemini. Please join us for, Gemini: It’s Not Rocket Science (But It’s Close), on Tuesday, May 20th, from 1-2:30 p.m. Artificial intelligence (AI) seems overwhelming, but it’s not rocket science. This session will introduce participants to Gemini, Google’s new Artificial intelligence (AI) tool. Participants will learn how AI works, its benefits and pitfalls, how to engineer a prompt, and how AI is used in Extension. Participants will also have a chance to ask questions and demonstrate using Gemini. We promise you’ll be launching Gemini to new heights after we finish!

Increasing Digital Accessibility

Throughout the year, we will be offering sessions designed to increase your knowledge about digital accessibility. Our first session, Creating Accessible Google and Microsoft Documents, will be offered on Tuesday, May 27th from 10-11 a.m. This session was also offered at the Extension Conference earlier in the year. You will learn how to identify and address common accessibility issues in various types of documents, including Word documents and Google Docs. The class covers the importance of creating inclusive content, and hands-on training with popular accessibility checker tools.

Podcasting for Extension Professionals

A four-week course on becoming a Podcasting Expert. This course is designed for users of all abilities. By the end of the class you will have created a 10 minute, well written and edited podcast episode. You will also be prepared to start and run a weekly podcast. Each week, there will be a one hour session in which you will learn new skills. There will be assignments at the end of each class that will lead to a finished podcast episode.

Week 2: May 8th from 2-3 p.m.

Week 3: May 15th from 2-3 p.m.

Week 4: May 22nd from 2-3 p.m.

What the Tech?!

The "What the Tech?!" sessions will provide an opportunity for extension professionals to meet face-to-face with their information management agent. Topics covered will include tips and tricks for Google Education Applications and EIT-supported applications, such as ActiveCampaign and our county websites. Participants should bring a laptop or an internet-connected device they are familiar with and can operate during the session.
