July Learning Opportunities

(Updated: June 27, 2025, 11:50 a.m.)
We’re taking a summer break on Express sessions, but we will still be hosting our other regular training sessions. Please let us know if there are any topics you’d like to see us cover. We can’t promise all topics, but we’ll do our best!

Our monthly online ActiveCampaign sessions are offered on July 8th and July 10th from 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon. Join our Managing Contacts session on July 8th to learn more about managing your contacts. To learn more about creating and sending campaigns, join our Creating Email Campaigns session on July 10th.

Eventbrite

Our monthly online Eventbrite session is on July 1st from 9-10:30 a.m. This session will cover Extension Eventbrite requests through event publication, including budget forms, adding details to the event, online event, modifying ticket information, adding custom questions to the order form, making your event live for registration, and managing attendees once your event is published.

Gemini

We are offering new trainings on how to use Gemini. Please join us for, Gemini: It’s Not Rocket Science (But It’s Close), on July 23rd, from 1-2:30 p.m. Artificial intelligence (AI) seems overwhelming, but it’s not rocket science. This session will introduce participants to Gemini, Google’s new Artificial intelligence (AI) tool. Participants will learn how AI works, its benefits and pitfalls, how to engineer a prompt, and how AI is used in Extension. Participants will also have a chance to ask questions and demonstrate using Gemini. We promise you’ll be launching Gemini to new heights after we finish!

Increasing Digital Accessibility

Throughout the year, we will be offering sessions designed to increase your knowledge about digital accessibility. Creating Accessible Google and Microsoft Documents, will be offered on July 15th from 10-11 a.m. This session was also offered at the Extension Conference earlier in the year. You will learn how to identify and address common accessibility issues in various types of documents, including Word documents and Google Docs. The class covers the importance of creating inclusive content, and hands-on training with popular accessibility checker tools.

Publications Database

This month, Bethany Geiger is offering a session, Publications Database 101, on July 9th from 1-2 p.m.

This session is primarily for specialists, but agents are welcome to join to learn how to navigate the database and find useful information. Join us to learn how to navigate the NC State Extension Publication Database, see how it connects to our larger web ecosystem, and learn the basics of publishing and revising content.

We look forward to seeing you!
