Google Drive Access Controls

(Updated: Nov. 16, 2022, 9:16 a.m.)

Google Workspaces has added a new feature for the expiration of access. You are now able to set expiring access when sharing files in My Drive. This update improves the existing expiring access capabilities by allowing you to add an expiration when sharing, as opposed to after a person already has access to the file. Additionally, you can now add expiring access for editors, as opposed to just for viewers and commenters. This feature could come in handy when collaborating on a time-limited project or when collaborating with someone like an intern who will not need permanent access.

For more information, Google has released a short article about the update to access controls.
