Please let us know if there are any topics you’d like to see us cover. We can’t promise all topics, but we’ll do our best!
ActiveCampaign
Our monthly online ActiveCampaign sessions are offered on April 14th and April 16th, from 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon. Join our Managing Contacts session on April 14th to learn more about managing your contacts. To learn more about creating and sending campaigns, join our Creating Email Campaigns session on April 16th.
Computer Contact Training
During April, we will hold 6 in-person sessions for Computer Contact Training. We have tried to spread these around the state as much as possible to try to reach as many computer contacts as possible. If you are a computer contact for your county, we'd really like to see you there! Register in XLMS for the location closest to you.
Eventbrite
Our monthly online Eventbrite session is on April 7th from 9-10:30 a.m. This session will cover Extension Eventbrite requests through event publication, including budget forms, adding details to the event, online events, modifying ticket information, adding custom questions to the order form, making your event live for registration, and managing attendees once your event is published.
Express Sessions
This month, some of our Express sessions are on accessibility, so they are grouped under the next heading. However, we have received a request to bring back refresher sessions on various Google applications.
This month, we are offering Let's Make a Date (with Google Calendar). This session will be offered on April 22nd from 9-9:30 am. Did you know you can use Google Calendar for more than just scheduling meetings? In this session, you will learn how to create appointments/meetings on Google Calendar, as well as a few other tips to help make calendar management easier. You'll learn how to add attachments, find available times for specific meeting attendees, and how to create a task from your calendar.
Increasing Digital Accessibility
Throughout the year, we will continue to offer sessions designed to increase your knowledge about digital accessibility.
What do I do with my PDFs?
This is a new session being offered. As we work to ensure our digital content is accessible to everyone, one of the more challenging formats is the Portable Document Format (PDF). PDFs have been widely used, but are not the most accessible or mobile-friendly option. In this session, you will learn how digital accessibility requirements apply to PDFs and how to make decisions on whether to convert or remediate your documents. We'll also share some tools and resources for testing, creating, and remediating your PDFs. Register for this session, which takes place on April 9th from 2-3 pm.
Accessibility All-Stars
One of our primary functions in Extension is sharing information, and these days, much of that knowledge is communicated online. Join us for some quick tips to ensure your web content is user-friendly for everyone and reaches the widest audience possible. We'll go over some basic guidelines for inclusive design and some tricks and tools to make it easy! This session is offered on April 15th from 10-10:30 am. Register in XLMS.
Accessibility Fundamentals: Fonts
Join us for an Express (30-minute) training covering the fundamental accessibility principle of fonts. Considering fonts with accessibility is crucial because it makes digital content readable for a larger audience, including individuals with visual impairments, learning disabilities, or low vision, as well as for anyone who is distracted or multitasking. Learn how to choose fonts that help make content more accessible. Register for this session, taking place on April 29th from 9-9:30 am.
Website Training
This month, we are offering a session centered around creating county program pages. Our County Program Pages session will be offered on April 21st from 10-11 am. This session will cover how to customize and organize your program pages to best represent the programs offered in your county center! We will show you how to access your program page templates, customize them, and publish them. We will discuss the different types of pages (program index pages, program pages, and standard pages), how to move content, how the program area menu works, and how to set up nested pages. This session is applicable only to N.C. Cooperative Extension county sites and county staff.
We look forward to seeing you this month!
