Restart regularly
If your Mac seems to be running slower than normal or is otherwise not performing as expected, a restart is a great first step to try. Your computer will restart automatically during some software updates, but you can also select "Restart" from the Apple menu to manually restart. This will often be one of the first things we do as part of the troubleshooting process, and it's an easy step that you can take before contacting the Help Desk.Use caution when closing the lid
We've recently seen a handful of laptops come in for repair with cracked screens. This is usually caused by an object being between the screen and the case when the lid is closed. To prevent this, make sure that any power cords or other cables or objects are clear of the laptop before closing the lid.
