Connecting Your Mac to the Correct Wireless Network

(Updated: June 10, 2022, 7:03 a.m.)

Macs managed by EIT are setup to automatically connect to the correct wireless network in your county office (NCCE-Main). Personally-owned devices such as phones should connect to NCCE-Alt.

In some cases, your phone may share its wireless settings with your Mac, causing your Mac to automatically connect to the wrong wireless network - NCCE-Alt, instead of NCCE-Main.

If you find that your Mac is connecting to NCCE-Alt, follow the steps below to fix the problem.
  1. Open System Preferences on your Mac, and choose "Network".
  2. Your current wireless network will be listed in the "Network Name" section.
  3. Select "NCCE-Alt" from the "Network Name" list.
  4. Uncheck the box "Automatically join this network".
  5. Now select "NCCE-Main" from the "Network Name" list.
  6. Make sure the box is checked to "Automatically join this network".

Your Mac should now automatically connect to the correct wireless network in the office.
