ActiveCampaign Launches New Workflow for Campaigns

(Updated: March 20, 2024, 9:08 a.m.)

ActiveCampaign released its new campaign workflow at the end of January 2024. While working on campaigns, Extension Information Technology Staff have found that these changes are helpful and assist in setting up your campaign to reach your audience. It is valuable to note that you are not required to design your campaign before completing the required fields on the campaign summary page. To make it easier to spot the new changes, we will walk through the steps in which you will encounter the new workflow when creating a campaign.

Creating a campaign
ActiveCampaign assigns a default name to your campaign. You can change this at any point during the campaign creation process.

New Time Format In ActiveCampaign Workflow
  • You can design your campaign before completing the required files and selecting a list. Please note that you will need to complete all required fields before sending.
  • You can now add emojis to your subject line with a button click.
  • You can preview your subject line by clicking the “i” icon next to the “Preheader” field to see how it will look in mobile inboxes.
  • You can select the list of contacts you want to send your email to, as well as select or create a segment.
  • Campaign scheduling now uses the time format EST. Previously, all campaigns were scheduled in military time.

Sending your campaign You are ready to send once you have created and tested your campaign! When you click the send now button, you will be shown the number of contacts your campaign will be sent to.

  • A new success page will appear for all sent and scheduled campaigns.
  • Once sent, you can dive straight into the Campaign Report. Clicking “View Report” will take you to the report for your campaign. Clicking “Finish” will return you to the campaign dashboard. Since newsletters typically take a few minutes to send, you do not need to wait for this step to complete.
