New Email Designer Templates in ActiveCampaign

(Updated: March 20, 2024, 9:11 a.m.)

In November 2022, ActiveCampaign announced the launch of their new and improved Email Designer for campaigns. The new and enhanced email designer makes it easier than ever to create branded, high-performing emails within the platform. With an emphasis on reliability and an easy-to-navigate UI, this email designer will give you the best possible experience to create optimal campaigns and engage your customers.

Here in Extension IT, we worked with designers at ActiveCampaign to create on-brand templates for North Carolina Cooperative Extension (counties), North Carolina State Extension (campus), North Carolina 4-H (Counties), and North Carolina State Extension 4-H Youth Development (campus). All templates include proper logos and wording providing users with a way to promote North Carolina Cooperative Extension while staying on brand with our marketing efforts.

The new email designer is compatible with new designer templates only. After choosing a list, choose the new designer. Here, you can either select "Start from Scratch" or select a predesigned template created for the new designer to get started.

New designer templates can only be imported to the new designer and cannot be used in the classic designer. Currently, users still have access to the classic designer and all existing work. Using the new email designer will lessen formatting issues that users are experiencing.

Extension IT would like to remind users that posting pictures of tables or flyers designed in another program can still cause formatting and accessibility issues, no matter the designer selected. If you would like to post a table, please design the table in ActiveCampaign to make sure it is accessible. Flyers, or pictures of flyers, are not suggested to post as graphics in ActiveCampaign due to accessibility issues. It is recommended if you would like to send out information about an event you select the EVENT template in the template library and use that to send out information about events.

What new features are now available?

This is a rebuild of our email designer that prioritizes ease of use, reliability, and rendering consistency across all inboxes, browsers, and device types. Brand new features include:
  • HTML to Drag and Drop toggle
  • Countdown timer block
  • Saved Modules, including containers, structures, and sections
  • Slide-to-size columns
  • Banner block
  • And many more functions for more advanced users!
ActiveCampaign provides an excellent

of the new email designer.

Starting in January 2023, Extension IT will be training on Creating Email Campaigns using the new email designer. You can find EIT's training schedule by visiting the Extension Learning Management System (XLMS).
