Why the Change?
The old address,
ces_help@ncsu.edu was far too similar to the email address used for the main NC State University Help Desk (
help@ncsu.edu ). Often times if a support request intended for EIT is first routed to the main NC State University Help Desk, users are more likely to experience unexpected (and undesirable) delays before the request is appropriately assigned to our dedicated IT team here in Extension.
Our Old Address Will Continue to Work
Because we have been using the old address ces_help@ncsu.edu for quite some time (and it has been published in many places) it will continue to function for the foreseeable future.
Want Help Faster?
The single biggest thing you can do to help EIT solve your problem faster is to include any details you think might be pertinent to your request up front. Sometimes, this is as simple as crafting a more detailed subject line in your email to the helpdesk, i.e. "
Subject: Website" doesn't tell us nearly as much as "
Subject: XYZ County Website not showing Eventbrite Event". Using a more detailed subject line will help us assign your request to the best suited team member more quickly.
