Your Unity ID and NC State Google accounts are valuable. These accounts let you conduct business with clients, each other, and the University. They also protect personal information like your payroll, leave, and benefits, as well as work related information like contacts, county financials and class info. This information is not only valuable to you, but to others who would use your info and account to their benefit and your detriment.

In 2017, NC State is increasing the security around all accounts. There are steps you are required to complete. The first of the steps is called User Identification and Authentication (UIA); security questions to put it plainly. The security questions are used if you need to interact with the main NC State Help Desk.

To set up your security questions, log into: https://go.ncsu.edu/UIA

This site will ask you to create both the security questions and the answers. Once created you can go back and update the questions if you find that one of the answers has changed.

Extension Information Technology is asking all Extension employees to complete the UIA form by January 31, 2017. We will be in contact with you about additional security measures in the weeks to come.

We appreciate your attention to these important security enhancements. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us via the EIT Helpdesk at 919-513-7000 or eithelpdesk@ncsu.edu.
